How it Works
For Illustrative Purposes.
1. A small flexible balloon catheter is inserted into the intramedullary canal.
2. The balloon is infused with a biocompatible liquid monomer causing it to expand and conform to the canal.
3. The implant is cured on demand through the application of visible light.
4. The implant provides strength and rotational stability to the bone.
Enables a minimally invasive surgical approach. IlluminOss only requires a small incision for access and implant insertion thereby minimizing the potential for soft tissue damage.
Accommodating the use of ancillary fixation devices along the length of the implant. IlluminOss can be used in conjunction with fracture fixation systems such as: plates, screws and nails, for enhanced stability in compromised bone.
